How to submit to arxiv:
Login / Register
In “Article Submissions” box: choose “Start New Submission” button
- Verify contact information (should be as you registered). Click checkbox.
- Authorship: if you are submitting for Betty, choose “I am not an author, but I certify that I have permission t submit”
- Licenses: choose the “arxiv.org perpetual, non-exclusive license” unless told otherwise
- “I agree” to Policy Statement
- Archive and subject class: in most cases, choose “Nuclear Experiment”
Next page: Upload the file. If you are uploading for Betty, it will usually be in pdf form.
Continue. You should see “Submission processed OK”
Continue. Enter information as it appears on the paper, and/or as Betty instructs. Some notes here:
- If the paper is already accepted by PRC/etc, note that in the Comments.
- I like to remove numbers and other extraneous symbols from the Authors list (the formatting gets messed up and it is hard/impossible to show them as superscripts).
- I have found that Chinese characters are not accepted in the Authors field, but I always try first.
- You should KEEP sub- and superscripts in elements, etc.
Look over the preview and double- or triple-check that it matches what is shown on the first page of the paper.
Then: “View Article”. It should be an exact duplicate of the pdf. Look for obvious formatting errors, problems with figures or tables, missing pages, etc.
- Notes here: on Firefox, I have to hit the “back” button after I view the article so I’m on the “Check your submission” page, then refresh to see the “submit article” button.
You will receive a confirmation email from ArXiv. Forward it to Betty so she has the link to the paper and can pass it on to other authors. You may be asked to return to arxiv and make changes to the submission, so you will need the link too!
