This is an old revision of the document!

Ordered list of tasks for e14002:

prior to vault access:

  1. Set up HiRA lab test setup (9/6)
  2. Test HINP 4 electronics (9/6)
    • Integrate HINP4 readout code with NSCL DAQ (Kyle, 9/6)
    • Edit spectcl for HINP 4 (Kyle, 9/12)
    • Pulser test MB1 (14 CBs)
  3. Test CsI shaper/disc
    • Test 5 pico shaper/disc (16 channels each)
    • Confirm with WU/UCONN if first stage shaper gains need adjustment
  4. Alpha Tests of HiRA E's
    • Determine if/which strips are broken
  5. Test dE preamp box (e14009)
    • Determine if/which channels are broken
    • Work with WU to integrate ISEG bias
  6. Retrieve pallets from offsite storage
  7. Set up HiRA mount (outside of chamber) with dummies
    • locate missing pieces
    • Determine which parts need updated for e14009 zero degree detector
  8. Test HiRA target ladder
    • Work with Craig Snow to modify
  9. Test/locate all internal cables with cable tester, remake/fix any lost or broken cables

After access to vault (Nov 1)

  1. Work with facilities to get chamber installed
  2. Clean chamber and reach functional vacuum (1e-6)
  3. Arrange feed-through flanges as desired and retest vacuum
  4. Install internal mounting structure
    • Maintain isolation of internal parts from the chamber walls, test frequentl
  5. Assemble the array with HiRA dummies and do rough alignment with transit
    • Dave Sanderson will need to install the transit
  6. Flush and install chiller, replace filter as needed
  7. Install cooling water lines inside chamber.
    • We can test these are leak tight by first pumping with them empty (water blown out with N2) and then fill with water and retest vacuum. No HiRA detectors inside chamber until this is complete!
    • Once they have been leak tested these should never be disconnected.
  8. Move electronics racks to S2 vault. Connect to chamber feed-through flanges
    • Retest electrical isolation. The racks must be unplugged from power.
  9. Test electronics with pulsers
  10. Remove dummies and replace with real telescopes. Align with transit.
  11. Setup and test ISEG bias supply
  12. test the Si detectors with alpha source
  13. test CsI with cosmics
  14. Install and align targets
  15. Set up the logic.
    • The master trigger will likely be the CsI as last time.
