Login on LN computer
The LN computer lives in the GRETINA net and since December 2015 it is accessible from NSCL network
- login on gateway machine nsclgw1.nscl.msu.edu
- login as ln on gretina-gln1.nscl.msu.edu (35.8.35.167)
- Remember: “liquid nitrogen two for gretina”
- from a1/a2: ln@gln1
LN scripts
They are found in ~/scripts. The main LN program (gln_master) is a job run by root and not directly accessible by the user. Interactions happen via scripts. Most interesting is run-gln-ui.sh, the User Interface.
- run-gln-ui.sh: User Interface, 'help' gives option
- run-send-alarm.sh: Add your email here for receiving alarms
- run-log.sh: Add your email here for receiving logs
- run-log2.sh: Add your email here for receiving logs after each fill
- run-log3.sh:
- run-send-alarm-wd.sh
- finish_fill.sh: script executed after fill attempt
- run-gln-master.sh
- run-mail-que-view.sh
- run-time-sync.sh
- run-backup.sh
- run-tlog-and-plot.sh
- run-dlog-and-plot.sh
- run-mail-que-flush.sh
- run-view-master.sh: Output of the LN master process
Making long term T plots:
- on gln machine go to ~/other/thistory-dev
- run there ./run-thistory.sh XXX with the last day as input parameter
- results th.pdf and d.pdf are written in ~/plots
- uncomment/comment different templates in script for covering different time ranges
LN configuration
The LN configuration file is found as ~/gln/gln.fig. It is self-explanatory. If this file got updated, use run-gln-ui.sh script and the command “load” in there. Note: After a “load” in the UI all detector fill schedules are gone! You need to do a “ton x y z …” or “fill x y z after h:mm”.
