AT-TPC
Currently the design of the AT-TPC is in the conceptual stages. Presently the two primary objectives are to:
- produce a representation of the detector that can be used to convey the basic features to the public for talks & proposals
- evaluate the mechanics of connecting the electronics to the pad plane
Overview of AT-TPC Chamber This design assumes FEC dimensions of 1.75cmx14.0cmx19.0cm which allows 3 connectors to the pad plane instead of 4. This implies 3 ASICs per board and would require 46 cards for the number of channels. A maximum of 48 cards will fit in the existing space.
Endview of AT-TPC in Solenoid with Radial Electronics This design assumes FEC dimensions of 1.75cmx14.0cmx19.0cm which allows 3 connectors to the pad plane instead of 4. This implies 3 ASICs per board and would require 46 cards for the number of channels. A maximum of 48 cards will fit in the existing space.
Endview of AT-TPC in Solenoid with Radial Electronics This design assumes FEC dimensions of 2.0cmx14.0cmx25.0cm which is thought to be the T2K dimensions. Assuming a design that includes 4 ASIC's per card a total of 35 FEC's are required. Two radial arrays of 18 FEC's each do not fit in the available space of the pad plane.
A maximum of 25 fit in a radial configuration.
Endview of AT-TPC with FEC Options This design assumes FEC dimensions of 1.0cmx9.3cmx17.0cm which are now known to be too small.
