Minutes of meeting with Performance Technologies Solutions (PTS), May 26, 2009
- PTS typically services the defense, aerospace and telecom industries and is trying to move into the physics market
- participates in the xTCA coordinating committee
- promoting ATCA for core type applications that require larger processing power in a small space
- promoting uTCA for node type applications
- 2 types of chassis available for purchase and a third is in the development stage
- each one accommodates an MCH controller and sufficient space for 6x midsize boards
- clocks can be synchronized between multiple crates using an external source
- main differences are wrt communication capabilities
