=====Monitoring Beam Power==== ==What Is Beam Power?== * Beam Power is a measurement of how much beam we're sending, it's measured in Watts (W) and can be found using the following formula * (Current/Charge) * Mass * Energy * Stripper Efficiency (using latex for this and link following references) * We measure the current from either __Farday Cups__ or __BPMs__, the charged beam induces current in the cups idk how i guess just attracts all neg to the surface? BPMs no clue * Mass is just dependent on the isotope we're sending * __Energy__ increases as the beam is accelerated by more cavities, so it will change depending on the destination, * __Stripper Efficiency__ is the amount of beam that passes through the __Lithium Stripper__ and __Charge Selector__ in FS1, if the Stripper is turned off then we would have 100% efficiency as all beam would pass through, if it were tuned incorrectly and didn't allow any beam to pass through, then it would be 0%. Another way to think of it is what percent of the initial beam that makes it to the LINAC is the desired charge, if we want a charge state that's 70% of the beam then we'd want 70% efficiency, if we want an additional charge state that's 15% of teh beam then this goes to 85%. ===Limiting Beam Power=== *Link to info page =====Actually monitoring it, first section could be another page===== ===Knowing the Limit=== *check teh ose *check Steiner tool ===Reading the Power=== *on the display
