| - | - **An FS scientists will make an hourlog post with setting parameters for the beam dump, target velocity, dipole current setting, and F1S1.** For this, operators must verify the settings from the hourlog post. This can be done by comparing the values listed on the Target Hall/ARIS status page. Once verified, clear the Target and Beam Dump PLC on MPS operator and make an hourlog post with the timestamp of the post from the FS group stating that those settings have been verified. | + | - **An FS scientists will make an hourlog post with setting parameters for the beam dump, target velocity, dipole current setting, and F1S1.** For this, operators must verify the settings from the hourlog post. | - | - **Configure BCM_5521 to based on new Primary Beam Power Limit.** After the FS group has made their hourlog post, they may have updated the Primary Beam Power Limit(this is found also on the Target Hall/ARIS status page, just under the setting you verify from before.) Operators will need to take the new power limit and plug it into the physics caluclator, where the BCM info is. | + | During this time, the FS group may want to a very low beam current reading, usually around 1 nA to a few pA's. When they want this, it'll be best to put beam on FC1102. Switch to the Tetram setting and make sure that the range is set to 1.2 nA. Read the current on the cup and make adjustments to achieve the current reading they desire; this can be done with attenuators to get you in the ball park and the source slits to get more precise. A good practice to try at such a low reading is when you get to where you want the reading to be, insert FC0998. This will take beam off of 1102 and give you a chance to see if the reading that you are getting is from noise or is actually accurate. | ||
| + | |||
| + | *Side note: If attempting very low beam current, pico range, and cup is not reading or is stagnant, open the 1102 Tetram page. Under the Control section, where Acquire is, click Done, then go back to Acquire. This should reset the cup and get a reading again. | ||

| + | * First an explanation of FS group and that they will always send to the same location, past the target | ||
| + | * The list of things checked is incomplete, we need to verify (off the top of my head) | ||
| + | - SCD1 current | ||
| + | - Magnetic Rigidity | ||
| + | - Dump Position | ||
| + | - Taret velocity | ||
| + | - Optics File | ||
| + | - Inclusion of "less than 5% of primary beam will go past the target" | ||
| + | * Could be clearer about 5521 and now that we have scotts tool that will also need to be updated, we also need to reference it in more pages i think | ||
